About Us

Matt and Brandi have been best friends since they met in college.  They began their journey in leadership by serving in various student leadership roles.  They married after college in 1995 and have 3 children (Elli, Ryan and Molly).  Together as a family they have lived and served the community of Colorado Springs for close to three decades.

They began their careers spending 7 years in the IT industry and 25 years in education, but their hearts were always united in their calling to serve the Church where Matt has served as a local pastor for over 20 years.  Along their journey, Matt and Brandi have worked together to steward hundreds of volunteers and develop several ministries, while teaching numerous classes and retreats.

After experiencing the ripple effect of teaching and guiding people how to grow in their character and skill, the Patterson’s began to focus on caring for and developing leaders.  As a result, they began Thrive Leader Development to shape a new breed of influencers by having a “come-along-side” mentoring approach to help leaders advance to new levels.  They are passionate about being person-centered, developmentally-minded and caring for those they have the privilege to serve.

Matt and Brandi’s hallmark verse is Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” It is their joy to help leaders both locally and around the world discover the unique role God has created them to fulfill for His Kingdom.  When leaders live out their passions in business, church, parachurch and missionary organizations, they recapture the divine purpose and blessing of trusted leadership.
